The Tuesday after Thanksgiving each year has become known as “Giving Tuesday,” which follows “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday.” Christian generosity, however, comes before all other expenditures, as we are taught several times in the Bible through the principle of giving our “first fruits.” Giving Tuesday may come after those other days, but the “last will be the first!” Giving Tuesday is a great opportunity for us to celebrate all that God has given us, so that we can give our first, our best portions to help others and express our gratitude.
